Ingredients

Strawberry Dole Whip base
  • 2 cup frozen strawberries Keep fully frozen for the creamiest soft-serve texture.
  • 0.5 cup coconut cream or vanilla ice cream Use coconut cream for dairy-free; use vanilla ice cream for a classic style.
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar or honey Add to taste depending on how sweet the berries are.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Brightens flavor and balances sweetness.
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 salt A small pinch makes the strawberry flavor pop.

Equipment

  • 1 blender
  • 1 piping bag
  • 1 star tip

Method

Soften the strawberries
  1. Let the frozen strawberries sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to slightly soften, so they blend smoothly into a creamy texture.
Blend into soft serve
  1. Add the softened strawberries, coconut cream or vanilla ice cream, powdered sugar or honey, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt to a blender and blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down if needed.
Sweeten to taste
  1. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if needed, then blend briefly again just to re-incorporate.
Pipe and serve
  1. Transfer the blended mixture to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and pipe into cups for the classic Dole Whip swirl.
Serve immediately
  1. Serve right away because it will melt quickly after piping.

Notes

For the tightest swirl, keep the blender jar cool and pipe as soon as blending finishes. Store in the freezer only if needed, but expect a softer texture after refreezing (re-blend briefly to restore creaminess). Dairy-free swap: use coconut cream instead of vanilla ice cream for a vegan-style strawberry soft serve.
