Ingredients

Dairy base
  • 1 cup whole milk Use cold for faster blending.
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream For a creamy, smooth texture.
Blueberry puree
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries Blend until smooth; strain to remove skins for a silky finish.
Sweeteners and flavor
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar Adjust sweetness to taste if you prefer a tarter finish.
  • 1 tbsp cream cheese, softened Helps thicken and smooth the texture.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Adds rounded flavor to the blueberry.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Brightens the fruit flavor.
  • 0.25 tsp salt Balances sweetness and boosts blueberry flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 Ninja Creami

Method

Make the blueberry puree
  1. Blend the blueberries until smooth, then strain the puree to remove skins for a silkier texture.
  2. Discard the skins and keep the strained blueberry puree for the ice cream base.
Blend the ice cream mixture
  1. In a blender, combine the strained blueberry puree with whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and salt.
  2. Blend until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed for no visible cream-cheese lumps.
Freeze and churn in the Ninja Creami
  1. Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for 24 hours until solid.
  2. Process on the Ice Cream setting; if the texture seems too thick or icy, re-spin with 1 tablespoon milk.
  3. Serve immediately for the soft-serve texture, or return the pint to the freezer if you need to wait.

Notes

For best results, strain the blueberry puree to remove skins and blend the base until fully smooth so the Ninja Creami can spin it evenly. Keep the pint covered in the freezer up to 1 week; for best texture, re-spin after thawing 3–5 minutes at room temperature. Freezing is required for this method (no separate freezer step beyond the 24-hour freeze). For a lighter option, swap whole milk and heavy cream for your favorite lactose-free or lower-fat cream (texture will be slightly softer).
